ABOUT YOUTH OF THE YEAR:

Established in 1947, the Youth of the Year program is held each spring to celebrate and highlight the positive achievements of outstanding youth from around Arkansas. Youth from Clubs around Arkansas compete locally for a chance to be selected as one of the finalists for the Arkansas Youth of the Year competition. Winners from local Clubs participate in regional competitions across the state, then at the state level in Little Rock.

From there, the Arkansas winner advances to national competition, culminating in a final competition held each September in Washington D.C.

Boys & Girls Club youth are honored each year for their efforts in making their clubs and communities more positive places for everyone. Winners demonstrate service to club, community and family; academic success; strong moral character; life goals; and poise and public speaking ability. These high achievers personify the values and character of their hometown club. The competition is a life-changing experience for these amazing youth.
